Wii Unlocker Review
There are a lot of software products currently on the market for unlocking the potential of the Nintendo Wii, among them Wii Unlocker. After using this software I will say that it is certainly not the best product out there for unlocking the Wii, especially considering the dozens of other similar software products that are much faster and more efficient with the installation process. One of the things that this product does come with though is a guide which most others do not. The guide that Wii Unlocker comes with guides you through the steps that you need go through in order to unlock the ability to do things like play DVDs and MP3 music.
I found that after I used the Wii Unlocker and tried to load DVD movies it was a little slow, which is a definite downside. When you look for software products like this, the main thing you want is speed. It is still capable of unlocking the ability to play everything from DVDs to music in the form of MP3s and various downloadable games which can be played using an emulator. The downloads are a little bit slow, but ultimately they play alright on the console.
Of course one of the main benefits to using this type of software is that you do not have to resort to using a mod chip, which can make things much more complicated than just installing software on the console. Mod chips can be very damaging to a system if they are not installed properly and the installation process can be very complicated for those who aren’t familiar with it. While it is true that the initial installation process of this software is simple enough, loading the actual files that you have on the console from it is something of a disappointment.
Wii Unlocker does work with the Update 4.2 which is a good thing, as there are many of these products which do not. Having modification software that is completely compatible is definitely one of the more important things to consider in one of these products and Wii Unlocker can provide that if nothing else. Compared to what I have seen in other software products like this, it isn’t that impressive though. This software offers the bare minimum for those who wish to play things like DVD movies and MP3 music on their Wii console, but it doesn’t provide much in the way of speed or efficiency.
The main reason I chose to purchase Wii Unlocker in the first place was because I wanted a way of making my console play DVDs and music without risking damaging it. When you consider just how much better similar products like this one are, it would be wise to look at what else is available for purchase before deciding on this one. And while this software will not void your warranty or do any damage, it might not be the best one you can get. As far as how much you pay for it, there are worse software out there but that isn’t saying much considering how inefficient this one is.
