Players can choose a number of memorable Nintendo characters or use a personalized Mii to race against up to 11 opponents. Using the Wii Wheel with the Wii Remote, players can perform speed-boosting tricks with a shake of the controls. Players will have to master 16 new tracks in addition to 16 classic tracks from previous Mario Kart games. Players can select between single and multiplayer modes and then choose their respected races. Single player mode only has the closed circuit races, ranging from 50cc to 150cc.
Mario Kart makes a good case for connecting the Wii online, too. Via the Mario Kart Channel, you race other gamers from around the world in an eight-driver contest.
