Did you see a blue light last night when you connected your Wii virtual console? Well it is update time, a new firmware update for your wii console.
“The update is mainly for the Wii Shopping Channel, while the Wii console remains at firmware 3.3. The first notable change is that Wii Points have been renamed as Nintendo Points. This is presumably due to the DSi being able to store and play downloadable titles. You’ll also now be prompted to check if you've the proper controllers for a game when making a purchase.
Bad news for Freeloader users, the update is mandatory if you want to make purchases from the Wii Shop. If you download it, your console will be upgraded to firmware 3.3, which has been confirmed to block the use of Freeloaders.”
